ÄGYPTEN - PTOLEMÄISCHES KÖNIGREICH ÄGYPTEN - PTOLEMAIOS XII NEOS DIONYSOS

Erste Regierungszeit
Im Jahr 80 v. Chr. setzte Sylla Ptolemaios XI. Alexander, den Sohn von Ptolemaios X., ein. Der neue König ließ Berenike III. ermorden, bevor er selbst eliminiert wurde, ohne einen Erben. Ptolemaios XII. Auletes, also der Flötenspieler, Sohn von Ptolemaios IX. Soter, bestieg den Thron. Er stellte sich unter den Schutz der Römer. Im Jahr 58 v. Chr. wurde es von den Alexandrinern aus Ägypten vertrieben und vier Jahre später von den Römern wiederhergestellt. Er ist der Vater von Kleopatra VII., der Großen, die seine Nachfolge antrat.
