Nous pensons que cet exemplaire est en réalité une pré-série de la 50 centimes Morlon dans une version de poids lourd, donc de poids standard pour la version Cameroun, et cet exemplaire peut parfaitement être considéré comme une frappe pour le Cameroun et est donc aussi référencé comme tel.

Historischer Hintergrund
KAMERUN - FRANZÖSISCHE MANDAT
(1919-1945)
Der Vertrag von 1884, der Kamerun an die Deutschen übergab, wurde im folgenden Jahr vom Berliner Kongress bestätigt. Gustave Nachtigal besetzte die neue Kolonie. Um die Marokko-Krise zu lösen, überließ Frankreich 1911 einen Teil des Kongo an die Deutschen, der an Kamerun angegliedert wurde. Das Territorium hatte eine Fläche von 761.000 km2 und wurde 1914 von 2,5 Millionen Einwohnern bevölkert, darunter 2.000 Weiße. Mit dem Vertrag von Versailles (28. Juni 1919) wurde Kamerun, das seit 1916 von den Franzosen und Briten besetzt war, ein den Franzosen anvertrautes Mandat. Kamerun ist eines der ersten Gebiete, das sich am 27. August 1940 dem Freien Frankreich anschließt. Am Ende des Krieges wird das Mandat in eine Treuhandschaft umgewandelt und Kamerun erhält 1958 seine innere Autonomie und am 1. Januar 1960 seine Unabhängigkeit.
