Épreuve uniface du verso sur papier grand format non filigrané. Pas de texte. Teintes rouges plus fortes que sur le définitif. On remarque également que le fond du cartouche en haut à gauche, où devrait se trouver "1000", est rose et non pas jaune comme sur la version définitive. Signature imprimée Jonas en bas à gauche : cette signature n'existe pas sur le billet définitif et constitue certainement la signature de l'artiste qui a ainsi "officialisé" cette épreuve. Extrêmement rare.

Historischer Hintergrund
NOUVELLE CALÉDONIE
Neukaledonien wurde den französischen Niederlassungen Ozeaniens angegliedert, bevor es 1860 eine autonome Kolonie wurde. 1946 wurde es zum Überseegebiet ernannt und beschloss, diesen Status 1958 und 1972 beizubehalten. Neukaledonien wurde 1774 von Kapitän Cook entdeckt. Die Franzosen erkannten die Insel während dieser Zeit an die Revolution. Nach dem Massaker an französischen Seeleuten durch die Eingeborenen im Jahr 1853 eroberte Frankreich die Insel militärisch und gründete 1854 Nouméa unter dem Namen Port-de-France. Bis zum Jahr 1860 war Neukaledonien von den Gebieten Ozeaniens abhängig. Neukaledonien, das am weitesten vom französischen Festland entfernte französische Territorium, war zwischen 1864 und 1896 eine wichtige Strafkolonie, insbesondere für Kommunarden wie Louise Michel. Es verfügt über bedeutende Bodenschätze, darunter Nickel, das zur Herstellung unserer Münzen vom halben bis zum 5-Franken-Stück verwendet wurde..
